April 2000 NL Trip: Amsterdam

Well.. we heard how bad it was to try and park your car in Amsterdam. and even if you park it, will we find it back - and in one piece? So.... we decided to take the train and experience public transportation at it's best. And that it was! Nice to be able to relax and see the sites along the way. Those buildings sure have a lot of detail and.... finding any that old in California is like looking for a needle in a hay-stack! Sure is interesting architecture and... how big was that painting again? WOW! Of-course we had our share of visiting the souvenir shops. Amazing all the stuff you can buy there..... (no, we didn't :). Want a bike? Everywhere you look, there are some. They are chained to the railings though. Well a few more than some! Nice to also see some windmills on the way back.
